Cache, Image Optimization, and CDN Integration

Ivan Kovač, Junior Web Developer

At ForgeBIT, we acknowledge the ever-growing demand for instant access to information, which is why we are dedicated to helping website owners enhance their visitors’ experience. Through diligent analysis of website performance using tools like Page Insights, we achieve exceptional results and unlock the full potential of the websites we create.

In this blog, we will explore some of the strategies we use to increase page load speed, providing a clear explanation of each method mentioned in the title.

Cache is a temporary storage area that stores copies of frequently accessed data. When a user visits a website, the browser first checks to see if the requested data is in the cache. If it is, the browser can load the data from the cache, which is much faster than loading it from the source.

We leverage advanced caching techniques, including the utilization of caching plugins. By implementing cache effectively, we ensure that the website’s data is readily available. After testing various plugins, we discovered that Hummingbird is the ideal choice that suits our needs at ForgeBIT.

Image Optimization

Images play a vital role in enhancing a website’s visual appeal, but they can also contribute to slower loading speeds. With our expertise in image optimization, we prioritize reducing image file sizes without compromising their quality.

Through compression, resolution reduction, and using suitable image formats, we strike the perfect balance between visual aesthetics and optimal loading performance.

Additionally, we also leverage plugins such as Smush PRO to further enhance our image optimization capabilities.

Content Delivery Network (CDN)

A content delivery network (CDN) is a network of servers that are located around the world. When a user visits a website that uses a CDN, the browser will be served the website content from the server that is closest to the user. This can significantly improve the loading speed of the website for users who are located far away from the website’s origin server. Our choice of CDN provider among the various options available is Cloudflare, which we utilize to enhance website performance and optimize content delivery.

At ForgeBIT, we take care of cache implementation, image optimization, and CDN integration for websites, enabling a significant improvement in loading speed and enhancing the overall user experience. However, our commitment to the website’s performance extends beyond these services.
